How To Cook With A Top Chef

“It’s not every day that you get to take a cooking class with a “Top Chef” finalist. And it’s even more unlikely that the classroom will be cooled by gentle Caribbean breezes and face an Anguillian seascape as impossibly blue as a blue raspberry Jolly Rancher. And yet, here I am.”

What a pleasure it was - even for a non-cook like me! - to take a cooking class in Anguilla with St. Lucian chef Nina Compton, during her residency at Malliouhana last July.

Caribbean cuisine is finally stepping into the spotlight, being recognized as equally sophisticated and flavorful as food from other parts of the world. And it was my privilege to write about it - and to share a variety of other Caribbean culinary events you can join– in my debut for Travel Weekly.
