Sandwiches of the Caribbean

When you think of Caribbean cuisine, fish and seafood dishes are probably the first that come to mind. But sandwiches - like this DELICIOUS fish cutter from Cuzz' in Barbados - are a regional staple that has sustained islanders for centuries, offering a portable and inexpensive way to (literally) break bread with friends and family.

From Jamaica's patty and coco bread to Trini bake and shark, I'm proud to have my story about sandwiches of the Caribbean featured in the current issue of Food & Wine, on newsstands now.

(My story’s a double-page spread, so pick up a copy to read the second half.)
